Well I don't know if I'm walking on solid ground
D#m G#m C#m
Cause everything around me is falling down
D#m G#m C#m D#5
And all I want is for someone to help me

G#m F# C#m
I had a job but the boss man let me go, he said
G#m F# C#m
I'm sorry but I won't be needing your help no more, I said
G#m F# C#m
Please mister boss man I need this job more than you know
        G#m F# C#m D#5
But he gave me my last paycheck and he sent me on out the door

Chorus

D#m G#m C#m
Well I don't know if I'm walking on solid ground
D#m G#m C#m
Cause everything around me is falling down

And all I want is for someone to help me

D#m C#m D#m C#m
What in the world am I gonna to do tomorrow
D#m C#m D#m C#m
Is there someone whose dollar that I can borrow
C#m
Who can help me take away my sorrow
N.C. D#5

My wine is good to me, it helps me pass the time
        G#m F# C#m
And my good old buddy whiskey keeps me warmer than the sunshine, hey hey

G#m F# C#m
Your mom of mayhem just a child has got his own, hey hey
G#m F# C#m
If god has plans for me, I hope it ain't written in stone, hey hey
G#m F# C#m
Because I've been working working, myself down to the bone
       G#m F# C#m
And I swear on grandpas grave, I'll be paid when I come home, hey hey

~~ The example above shows the verse, but it can be applied to every other section of the song!

~~ I would recommend muting the higher e-string if you strum the chords, this fits the song better
   in my opinion.

~~ Tip: It also sounds nice to play a good old Cadd9 in the chorus ;)

Depending on which recording you're listening to, he may or may not be playing a half
step up. So you
can either throw a capo on 1 if you want, or just fiddle with the tuning, or (my
personal fave) just go
for it in open tuning.
The only chords you use in this song are Am, G, C, and very briefly F. (If you're
feelin' fancy, you can
play the Fadd9 that he uses, but whatev). Also, I would tab out the fingerpicking, and
I might do it
later, but I just figured this out on my ukulele and I'm too lazy to go get my guitar
and figure it out
 right now.

Am G C (x2)

Am G C
I was scared of dentists and the dark,
Am G C
I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations,
Am G C
Oh all my friends are turning green,
Am G C
You're the magicians assistant in their dreams.

Ooh, ooh ooh
Am G C (hold)
Ooh, and they come unstuck

Am G C
Lady, running down to the riptide,
C Am
taken away to the dark side,
G C
I wanna be your left hand man.
Am G C
I love you when you're singing that song and,

I got a lump in my throat 'cause
G C
you're gonna sing the words wrong

Am G C
There's this movie that I think you'll like,
Am G C
this guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City,

I just wanna, I just wanna know,
C F
If you're gonna, if you're gonna stay,

Strum once and hold:
Am G C
I swear she's destined for the screen,
Am G C

Take Me to Church

[Verse 1]
Em Am Em
My lover's got humour
                       Am G
She's the giggle at a funeral
                       Am Em
Knows everybody's disapproval
                            Am Em
I should've worshipped her sooner
                     Am Em
If the Heavens ever did speak
                     Am G
She is the last true mouth piece
                        Am Em
Every Sunday's getting more bleak
                Am D
A fresh poison each week
                   C Em
'We were born sick, you heard them say it
                      Am Em
My church offers no absolutes
                             Am G
She tells me 'worship in the bedroom'
                         Am Em
The only heaven I'll be sent to
                   Am D
Is when I'm alone with you
               C
I was born sick, but I love it
Command me to be well
G C G Cm G Cm G Cm G-F#/F#-F Em
Aaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaamen. Aaaaaaaamen. Amen

[Chorus](2x)
              Em
Take me to church
                                               B
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
                                                G
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
                 Am
Offer me that deathless death
     Em Am-G-F#-Em
Good God, let me give you my life

2x

Em Am Em
If I'm a pagan of the good times
                 Am G
My lover's the sunlight
                     Am Em
To keep the Goddess on my side Am D
She demands sacrifice
                        C Em
To drain the whole sea Get something shiny
                        Am Em
Something meaty for the main course
                            Am G
That's a fine looking high horse
                    Am Em
What you got in the stable?
                        Am D
We've a lot of starving faithful
                 C
That looks tasty, That looks plenty
This is hungry work

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
No masters or kings when the ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin
In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene
Only then I am human
Only then I am clean
Amen. Amen. Amen

i am an amplifier
not a transformer
so for those that approach with love... a special thanks
i am water
reflecting and absorbing
so for those that approach with love... a special thanks
I have a strange but strong orbital attraction to "the trial by fire people"
when confronted i evaporate into the light
that which is solid within me disintegrates into exozodiacal dust
i suspended myself in space
to enhance your beauty
so for those that approach with love... a special thanks
